The End
I'm not going to post on this blog anymore. Any pictures that I post will now be posted to our private blog. I had a good run, but then I became pregnant, and then I got sick, real sick, and taking pictures every day was no longer the priority and WOW this has got to be the worst run-on sentence ever. The end.

Blah....Fail
I know you've all been frantically checking the photo blog right? RIGHT?
I was doing so good on taking pictures EVERY DAY. And then, I failed. I missed a few days here and there and I felt really bad about it. And then I was like "Well, if I missed a few days, what's the point of even continuing now!?" I know. I'm weird. But, my personality is such that it seriously bugged me. SO....after a few days of being annoyed, I decided that I was being silly and that it's ok to miss a few days. So starting in September, I'm just going to do a monthly post of pictures throughout that month. Good enough? yes.

August 26
First day of school! Karen and I both come all day on the first day, and by 4:00 I. WAS. EXHAUSTED. It was so fun to meet all of our new students (and see old students from last year that looked like they'd grown a full foot this summer)! Here's to my second year!
August 25
So, after all our hard work this summer, our water damage is back. It took a few weeks to show it's ugly face after we had painted, but it's back. And I'm so sick of this room I could puke. Can't anything ever go right with it!?
August 24
We went to visit my great aunt Ellen today and this little sweety just snuggled up close to me the whole time. She was so calm and nice. I think I know what kind of dog we'll be getting next. :)
August 22
Just another snippet from our classroom (and my partner. Love her!). You'll probably be seeing a lot more of it since I've practically lived at the school lately.
August 21
The baby hummingbirds hatched! Because the nest is so high up, we've only been able to see their little beaks poking up out of the nest. We saw the mom feeding them, but there is really no way to get a picture of it. She can sense when I have my camera out (even when I'm in the house!) and flutters away FAST.
August 20
My imitation of Scout on the way home from school. I've been at the school ALL DAY for the past few days. Our classroom is slowly coming together.
August 19
The quilt I made for Big Dave's birthday. It has pictures of Dave's Dad when he was younger and then pictures of the whole family throughout the years. It was such a fun project for summer!

August 17
We took Scout to the beach for the first time today. I was so afraid that he would be afraid of the water because he hates baths, but he didn't even wait to sprint into the lake. Win.
August 15
Karen and I FINALLY got to move into our room today! We found out a few days ago that we won't be out in a portable! We're on the other side of the building, but we're inside! Woot! :)
August 11
We're kind of obsessed with our hummingbird nest over here. I lovingly labeled the photo so you can better see the nest. Pretty sure you wouldn't have found it otherwise. Is that not the coolest thing ever, or do I just not have enough going on?
August 9
Had too much fun at the fair with Grandpa, Grandma and Mom today. Just look at that smile on my Grandpa's face while looking at the "Worlds Smallest Horse."
August 8
Almost done with the quilt I'm making for Dave's dad. I'm really getting into this quilting business. I know I'm not expert, but I'm pretty proud of it so far.

August 7
DONE painting! I seriously love it so much! Painting is so much work, but the results are priceless. Thanks for your help Jolynn! What do you think?
August 6
We found a hummingbird nest on our front porch. It's teeny tiny and those little eggs are so adorable! We're trying to stay away from it so we don't scare the momma hummingbird away, but I just couldn't resist taking at least one photo.

August 1
Before you even think it, I know. I take too many pictures of my dog. You would too if he was yours. Also, anyone else hate August? It's seriously the lamest month ever.
July 31
This is what pretty much every night this week has consisted of. We're both still sick with a nasty cold/cough so it's been the laziest week ever. I've watched more episodes of Scrubs than I'd like to admit.
July 30
Action shot of Scout. This is what the majority of the billions of pictures I have of him look like.
July 29
I was so excited when I got this little envelope in the mail today! It's a teeny tiny envelope with a letter from Megan! Isn't it adorable!? She's doing really well in the MTC. She's already halfway done! It's gone by so fast.

July 28
Me being a sicky pants on the couch ALL DAY LONG. I've got a super fun sinus headache/cough/congestion party going on. It's been pretty fun you guys. Scout made sure to keep me company all day though.
July 26
What our drives to the cabin usually look like. Scout likes to try to weasel his way to the front most of the time.
July 25
Summer bliss=nightly walks with Scout and Dave. We'll just pretend that I didn't come home with 50 bajillion mosquito bites.

July 24
Brewer loving the attention he's getting at a family bbq. He's sure missed Megan since she's been gone to the MTC.
July 23
Dave showing spirit whilst loathing being at the parade. I think he hides it well. :) Oh Dave...such a good sport. Can someone PLEASE tell me why Bountiful feels the need to hold the LONGEST parade on earth??? We left early (as we've done in past years) and there were still over 70 floats to go!? WHY???? I can't imagine what a mess it was to get out of at the end.

July 21
Scout enjoying his new toy...of which he hasn't destroyed yet! Mostly because we put it away after awhile...but still, we have a survivor! :)
July 20
Spent practically all day installing board and batten in our room. I'm loving how things are coming together. Next up, paint!
July 19
Scout pouting because he isn't allowed in our room. Haha. Poor dog. We FINALLY finished getting all the glue off our walls today. Note to self: Think twice before applying wallpaper. If you get the urge, just say no.

July 17
In the process of refinishing the headboard. I'm almost done with our bedroom furniture! It's been a fun project, but it's A LOT of work!

July 16
My new favorite picture of Scout. We've been having thunderstorms every night this week so Dave and I have been spending a lot of time with Scout outside during them. (He's REALLY afraid of thunder so we're trying to train him to go inside the garage during a rainstorm). A few months ago during a really bad storm, Scout freaked out and jumped the fence and ran down the street because he was so scared. Both Dave and I were at work at the time. Thank goodness our neighbor saw him and coaxed him back to the house. We're so lucky to have such wonderful neighbors! Anyway, We were sitting outside and he was doing great, as you can see. This picture was taken RIGHT before a huge thunder boom. He went from super happy and playful to petrified. I wish I would have caught it on camera. As soon as he heard that thunder he leaped up onto the porch swing and buried himself under me. Hilarious! And sad. Poor dog!

July 14
I'm obsessed with homemade ice cream. Like for real you guys, it's a problem. I found the BEST and easiest recipe for homemade vanilla ice cream a few weeks ago and it's seriously changed my life. We may have made it three times in the last month. (AND that's why Dave and I are getting up at 6:00 am and going on a jog each morning...) Here's my adapted recipe:
2 cups heavy whipping cream
2 cups half and half
14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk
(Yeah, I know...bring on the fat!)
1-2 tsp vanilla (I use Mexican vanilla my in-laws brought back from Cancun) it really does make a difference.
1-2 Tbls honey (We like to use raspberry infused honey from Bear Lake)
Mix all ingredients.
I like to place the mixture in the refrigerator for about an hour just to get it nice and chilled. Then, pour that yummy goodness into an ice cream maker. It usually thickens in 20 minutes or less. The consistency is more like soft serve ice cream. The picture above is what it looks like if you transfer it to the freezer for an hour or so. Enjoy!
July 13
Our feeble attempt at making our front yard presentable. It's been riddled with weeds all summer. I finally got around to going to the nursery to get plants only to realize that I'm the ONLY one that waited until mid July to plant flowers. SO, I grabbed the ONLY living flowers they had left and hoped for the best. Next year maybe I'll think about planting flowers BEFORE mid-summer. Dave says they'll be dead within the week. I say, "Well then we'll have a pretty yard for a week." Totally worth it. :)

July 11
Last day of Common Core Academy. Bleh. Four days straight of this just about did me in. I felt like I was in college all over again, and sadly didn't feel I gained much out of it at all. This was demonstrated by my obvious lack of enthusiasm. I didn't even try to hide the fact that I was on Facebook. Disappointing.
July 10
Check out this awesome homemade slip and slide. I was sad that I didn't bring a swim suit. It was pretty sweet.
July 8
I'm up in Logan with Dave's mom and siblings for a training with the district. This was my view for the night. :)
