This is undoubtedly the lamest picture ever, but you have to have some of those every once in a while, right?  I saw this while leaving from parent teacher conferences tonight and thought it was so cool how the snow wrapped around my car antenna.  

Oh.  You didn't think it was that cool?  Clearly I'm easily amused after being at work for twelve hours.  Good news though!  We finished all our conferences tonight!  YAY!

Me after completing SEP's for the night.  one night down, two to go!  SEP week is always such a long week.  These are the weeks that I am REALLY glad to have a teaching partner!  It makes these weeks so much more bearable, and Karen is a blast to work with!

My view for the evening.  Dave's parents just got a hot tub and it has been SO NICE during this weather.  There's something so peaceful about watching the snow fall while being in a hot tub.  Oh, and my favorite part of this photo?  That would be the little black ball of fluff laying out in the snow.  Scout LOVES snow.  It seriously doesn't even faze him.  He just lays there and lets the snow fall on him.  Such a cutie.

January 26

We have a rule that Scout isn't allowed in our bedroom, so he likes to lay next to the door and push his luck.  He kept scooting forward one morning when finally I said "Scout!  No!"  He then put one paw outward (as shown in the photo) just to stick it to me.  That little stink.

I spent four hours creating this photo collage for my parents today.  We (Adam, Beth, Dave and I) gave them all the framed pictures for Christmas.  I'm really pleased with how it turned out, but OH MY GOODNESS.  Do not even ask how I got them hung on that wall.  Megan thought I was going to die.  Alas, it's done.  And I'm alive.

January 24

AWFUL weather in Utah today.  It rained.  That rain turned to instant ice.  That ice CAKED my car...and everything else.  It took Dave 3 HOURS to get to work this morning.  Woof.

Our closing date moved up a week (February 11th!), so we've got to start packing!  You know who has the best moving boxes and ALWAYS has a ton they want to get rid of?  The Liquor Store.  You're welcome.

A lame picture for a lame night.  Today was a holiday but Dave had to go into work anyway so it was just kind of a wah wah wah day.  I spent my day doing laundry and then we spent almost 3 hours tonight with our home owners insurance agent.  Good news though.  Everything's progressing nicely with the home!

January 20

The tale of the homemade ice cream fail.  

We had dinner at Adam and Beth's tonight.  We were asked to bring dessert.  I wanted to make homemade ice cream.   I made the ice cream base (which I've done numerous times) but I made the HUGE mistake of using a different recipe this time.  This recipe instructed me to blend all of the ingredients in the blender.  So I did.  And then I put it in the ice cream maker.  And there it sat, churning and churning for 30 minutes. I came back to check on it and this is what I saw:    

 It doesn't look all that bad, but what you don't realize is that it is just one big tub of froth.  It was more the consistency of whipped cream than ice cream.  Fail.  

BUT, I'm amazing and came prepared with extra ingredients so I made the base again (not using  the blender this time) and this time we used Adam and Beth's ice cream maker.  And after 40 minutes of churning, we had this:  Ice cream soup.  Fail.

After fail #2 and almost two hours later, I admitted defeat and we bought the stupid ice cream.  

Sometimes the "if at first you don't succeed, try, try again" mantra doesn't work.

We found a house!  Nothing's set in stone yet, but we're pretty excited!  We spent the night drawing a blue print of it and decided what is going where, etc.  We're so excited!

Just a small portion of my classroom.  My students just finished a HUGE project that we've been working on for what feels like FOREVER.  These "extreme" dot to dots were part of that project.  Some of them have over 1,000 dots!  Didn't they do an amazing job?

My parents are staying at their condo in Mesquite so we've been hanging out with Megan while they are gone.  We skyped them and this was Scout's reaction when he saw Brewer.  He LOVES Brewer.  Brewer isn't so fond of Scout.  Something about him being like 4 times the size of him, or something.  :)

School was closed today because of a huge snow storm we had last night.  To be honest, I wish they wouldn't have closed the schools.  I had things to do today!  :)  Scout, on the other hand, couldn't be happier.  Everyone is home and there are mounds of snow to play in.
